Descripción

Mape-Antique Rinzaffo is a pre-mixed, powdered, cement-free rendering mortar, composed of lime and Eco-Pozzolana, natural sands, special additives and micro-fibers, according to a formula developed in MAPEI's research laboratories. Based on the EN 998-1 standard, the product is classified as GP: “Mortar for plasters for common use”, Category CS IV.

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Mape-Antique Rinzaffo, after mixing with water, which will be carried out in a continuous mixing plasterer or in a concrete mixer, is transformed into a breathable plastering mortar, resistant to salts, of semi-fluid consistency, easily workable by machine or with pallet, both on vertical surfaces and on ceilings
  • Mape-Antique Rinzaffo, applied as a first layer in the creation of dehumidifying, breathable and “structural” plasters, improves adhesion, uniforms the absorption of the support and slows down the transfer of salts.
  • Mortars made with Mape-Antique Rinzaffo have very similar characteristics, in terms of mechanical resistance, elastic modulus and porosity, to those of mortars based on lime, lime and pozzolana or hydraulic lime, originally used in the construction of buildings.
  • However, with respect to these mortars, Mape-Antique Rinzaffo has properties that give the product greater resistance to various chemical-physical attacks such as, for example, the presence of soluble salts, freeze-thaw cycles, and the washing action. of rainwater, the alkali-aggregate reaction and the appearance of plastic shrinkage cracks
  • In the technical data table (in the Application Data and Final Performance sections) some typical values are indicated, referring to the main characteristics, both in fresh and hardened states, of Mape-Antique Rinzaffo

TO IMPORTANT NOTICES

  • In the presence of rising humidity and soluble salts, apply Mape-Antique Rinzaffo in a layer of approx. 5 mm thick, before applying the macroporous dehumidifying plaster (Mape-Antique MC, Mape-Antique CC or Mape-Antique LC mixed with aggregates of appropriate granulometry)
  • In the presence of particularly difficult walls, such as stone and composite walls, or porous or mechanically weak ones, use Mape-Antique Rinzaffo as the first layer, both to improve the adhesion of the plaster to be applied subsequently and to uniform the absorption of the brickwork.
  • Do not use Mape-Antique Rinzaffo as mortar to pour into formwork (use Mape-Antique LC, mixed with aggregates of appropriate granulometry).
  • Do not use Mape-Antique Rinzaffo as a consolidation grout to inject into structures (use Mape-Antique I or Mape-Antique F21).
  • Do not use Mape-Antique Rinzaffo for plastering.
  • Do not use Mape-Antique Rinzaffo to make joint layers between masonry elements (use Mape-Antique Allettamento or Mape-Antique Strutturale NHL).
  • Do not add additives, cement or other binders (lime and gypsum) to Mape-Antique Rinzaffo
  • Do not apply Mape-Antique Rinzaffo at temperatures below +5° C

FIELDS OF APPLICATION

  • Rehabilitation of masonry walls degraded by the presence of capillary rise humidity, in existing buildings, including those of historical and artistic value
  • Remediation of masonry degraded by the disintegrating action caused by saline concentrations
  • Reconstruction of old lime-based plasters, degraded by atmospheric agents and environmental conditions, as well as the passage of time
  • Creation of breathable and “structural” plasters, when the masonry is mechanically weak or particularly difficult

Some application examples

Mape Antique Rinzaffo should be used as the first layer, when creating:

  • Dehumidifying and macro-porous plasters, indoors and/or outdoors, on existing masonry walls affected by rising capillary humidity.
  • Dehumidifying plasters on stone, brick, tuff and mixed masonry walls where there is presence of saline efflorescence.
  • Dehumidifying plasters on masonry walls placed in lagoon areas or near the sea.
  • Carrying out new dehumidifying plasters or reconstruction of existing ones based on lime, on stone, brick, tufo and mixed masonry walls, even in buildings classified as having historical and artistic value by the Administration.
  • Breathable and “structural” plasters on particularly difficult masonry walls such as, for example, porous or mechanically weak stone or composite walls
