Automatically optimized irrigation with soil moisture sensor. Watering your garden has never been so simple and precise: GARDENA's innovative soil moisture sensor automatically ensures that your garden is watered on demand and saves water by measuring the current soil moisture and transmitting it to your irrigation control. If the soil is still wet enough, skip the next watering cycle. This way, your plants automatically receive reliable and precise care, while, as an added benefit, you save water.
The sensor is compatible with almost all GARDENA multi-channel controllers and programmers. Due to its compact size, the battery-powered soil moisture sensor can not only be used in lawns or flower areas, but is also suitable for smaller flower pots.
To ensure that the sensor does not interfere with lawn care, it has a particularly low height and a flat surface: both lawn mowers and cutting robots can easily pass over the sensor. The five meter long connection cable allows for flexible installation and can be extended as required with an extension cable available as an accessory.
To give you an overview of your irrigation, you can view the sensor readings on the connected water control. A low battery level of the two AA batteries is indicated on both the irrigation control and the LED in the battery compartment. The batteries should last approximately one year in operation. In this way, the soil moisture sensor can always work reliably to ensure on-demand irrigation and water savings.

- If the soil moisture is sufficient, the irrigation programmer will not start, thus saving water and having healthy and beautiful plants. Together with a GARDENA Water Control, the soil moisture sensor can control irrigation automatically based on soil moisture.

- Whether in a flower bed, on the lawn or even in flower pots: thanks to its small, compact size and the five-metre long connection cable, the soil moisture sensor can be placed almost anywhere in the garden. Thanks to its low height and flat top, the sensor can even be installed on lawns without disturbing the mowing process.

Accurately informed
- You can set the sensor switching point on the connected Water Control. The measured soil moisture is displayed on the screen in the form of water droplets. If your products are connected to the GARDENA Bluetooth App, you can see the settings and display there.

Safe and reliable operation
- The low level of battery charge is indicated both on the Water Control and on the LED in the battery compartment. This allows you to replace the battery in time and ensures continued reliable operation.

Reliable and proven measurement principle
- The soil sensor measures soil moisture according to a proven electrothermal measuring principle. The metal tip, wrapped in felt, heats up and calculates the degree of soil moisture based on the cooling time reliably and accurately.
